CSC Offers Support to the Sichuan Earthquake Victims

May 21, 2008

CSC China handed the RMB194,600 donation raised by the company and its staff to the China Red Cross headquarter on May 20 2008 to lend support to the victims of the Sichuan earthquake.

Upon learning about the disaster, CSC China made a swift response to gather the support to raise financial aid to the earthquake victims. Up till May 19, a total figure of close to RMB100,000 was raised among the less than 300 contributors from CSC China.

This act of support for the earthquake victims also came from other companies in CSC Asia. CSC Malaysia has raised MYR80,000 (equal to RMB170,000) while CSC Hong Kong has raised over HKD140,000 to China. A total of over RMB500,000 were raised by all in CSC Asia as financial aid to the earthquake victims.

Along with the donation, CSC China also sent yellow ribbons and the China national flag to the staff in the company. The yellow ribbons signify condolences, blessing and longing for the earthquake victims. CSC staff hung the ribbon and flag on their desk as a way to bless their fellow country folks to recover from the disaster and have the strength and courage to rebuild their homes soon. The gesture is also meant to encourage oneself to remain steadfast and continue working towards the good and prosperity of the Chinese people and the nation.
